Who can apply for a Spouse Visa?
You may be able to apply for a UK Spouse Visa if you are 18 or over and your spouse or civil partner is living in the UK with one of the following statuses:
Settled in the UK, including someone with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or qualifying settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme
A British or Irish citizen
A person with refugee status or humanitarian protection in the UK
A qualifying person with pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme
A person with qualifying Turkish Businessperson or Turkish Worker status
A qualifying stateless person who meets the relevant UK immigration requirements
If you are applying as an unmarried partner, you will need to show that your relationship meets the relevant requirements. This may include demonstrating that:
You and your partner have been living together in a relationship for at least two years.
You have been in a relationship for two years or more but have not been able to live together, for example because of work, education, religious or cultural circumstances.
You are engaged or intending to enter into a civil partnership, and plan to marry or enter into the civil partnership within 6 months of being in the UK. If you have previously been married or in a civil partnership, you must also show that the previous relationship has legally ended.
